December 3, 2010 – As part of the celebrations commemorating the 25th anniversary of the inscription of the City of Quebec on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Organization of World Heritage Cities paid tribute to Quebec City for the special role that it has played in the history of the Organization.
To mark this anniversary, the Mayor of Beemster, The Netherlands and President of the OWHC, Mr. Harry N. G. Brinkman, presented to the Mayor of Quebec City, Mr. Régis Labeaume, a commemorative plaque stating the recognition of the OWHC with regard to the major role played by Quebec City in the creation of the Organization and its unfailing support through the years. For this, the OWHC expresses its deep gratitude to the City of Quebec!
