Death of Siri Myrvoll

Bergen, Norway

It was with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Siri Myrvoll yesterday, May 1. In spite of her optimism till the very end, the disease took her away from us while she still had so many projects, in particular in the field of heritage, which she cherished with passion.

Siri was a pioneer within the OWHC. Thanks to the unwavering support of her city, of which she was, rightly so, very proud, Siri organized the World Congress of the OWHC in Bergen in 1995, hosted meetings of the Board of Directors, represented her city on the Board of Directors, widely contributed to the election of her mayor to the presidency of the OWHC, acted as a regional coordinator for the Northwest Europe Regional Secretariat and was even Secretary General in 2000-2001. Only Siri has managed to achieve all that.

We will remember Siri for her great intelligence, her dedication, her dynamism and her joie de vivre.

To her family as well as to her co-workers in Bergen, we offer our sympathy. This loss that is yours is also ours.

The OWHC would not have become what it is without the faith, the vision and the contribution of Siri Myrvoll.

Thanks, Siri!
