The Regional Secretariat of the OWHC for the Northwest Europe, based in Regensburg, Germany, is proud to invite you to the Regional Conference of the OWHC Region north western Europe that will take place in Beemster, Netherlands, from 12th to 14th September 2012. Due to the 40th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention of UNESCO this topic will be the common thread of the conference. The first day of the conference will be dedicated to the host city and the delegates meeting. During the workshop moderated by the Regional Secretariat the first results and next steps from the Working Programme of the region will be presented.

Participants will then have the opportunity to learn more about the local challenges and chances at a special “Beemster Afternoon”. In the evening participants are invited to contribute to “Heritage Pecha Kucha”. Pecha Kucha is a presentation methodology in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (approx. 6' 40" in total). The topic should be related to the topics discussed during the conference.
Second day of the conference there will be four presentations on several subjects. The main topic “Managementplans” will be discussed in two of them from different points of view and also “Structure and implementation of local regulations” will be discussed. On Friday another presentation will focus on term and reading of “Outstanding Universal. Value”. Then participants are invited to an excursion including a workshop with the focus on “Policy in two crossing World Heritage Sites”.
