On December 2, 2013, in Florencia (Italy), Mr. Denis Ricard, Secretary General of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC), met with representatives of the associazione dei Siti beni italiani Patrimonio, the Italian association for UNESCO’s World Heritage sites. The representatives were Mr Claudio Ricci, President of the association and Mayor of Assisi (Italy), and Mr. Carlo Francini, Scientific Coordinator for the association.

During the meeting, it was discussed the importance and understanding of the protection and enhancement of World Heritage sites. Both the OWHC and the associazione dei Siti beni italiani Patrimonio have expressed their intention to collaborate closer in 2014.
