The first OWHC Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting for World Heritage Cities

Asia-Pacifc regional secretariat of the OWHC will organize the first regional meeting from 24th to 26th of September in close cooperation with UNESCO Bangkok office, Gyeongju municipal government, Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea, and The World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region (WHITRAP).

The meeting is consisted with two parts:

  • Experts Workshop: 24 September “People centered conservation principle for world heritage cities and towns” at Gyochon Academy, Gyeongju
  • Mayors Meeting : 25 – 26 September “Challenges of World Heritage Cities – Vision and Reality” at Hilton Hotel, Gyeongju

Reflecting the challenges of managing the future of historic cities, the proposed overall theme of the meeting is “Challenges of World Heritage Cities – Vision and Reality.” This is an opportune moment to contribute to pave the way for world heritage cities of the region forward.

we welcome all the people who want to participate or observe this monumental event.

Researchers will be able to discuss cooperations, agreements and new projects initiatives with OWHC and the professionals in the heritage sector regarding on the management of the world heritage cities. For further Information, please contact OWHC-AP
