The Municipality of Bamberg invited its staff to bring their children to work on November 19^th, the school holiday “Buß- und Bettag”. It was the sixth time this was made possible and the first time as a cooperation of the Municipality and the World Heritage Centre Bamberg. The focus was on the World Heritage respectively on an essential part of it: the local market gardeners’ district “Gärtnerstadt”. Here, the locally enrooted tradition of gardening is still alive. For instance, many old species  like potatoes and cabbage are cultivated that the children have prepared together and eaten for lunch.
