Warsaw submission wins the Photo Competition 2014

The 2014 OWHC Photo Competition “Modern Life in an Old City” in the region North-West Europe ends with the jury awarding our overall winning photo: it is Mr. Bartosz Flisek from Warsaw who wins 700 Euros with his black-and-white picture of the city at night. Our congratulations to Mr. Flisek for the wonderful image. It symbolizes with its combination of historical and modern architecture, young life with street musicians and audience in a very good photographical quality the idea of our competition title (see Mr Flisek at Warsaw Heritage Interpretation Center on occasion of the prize awarding).

The international Jury (consisting of our Secretary General Mr. Denis Ricard, the Mayor of Bamberg Dr Lange, the Head of the Building Department of Regensburg Mrs. Schimpfermann, and Anna Zasadzinska from Warsaw) had the hard task to choose out of the nine city winners the overall final winning photo by selecting their no. 1 to 3 choice. A combination of the four different valuations brought the final decision.

We would like to thank all participants of the competition – almost 400 valid photographs (check here) were uploaded in total!  And thanks to all our member cities who took part by announcing the competition and awarding their local city winners. A new challenge for young people in our World Heritage Cities has just been launched by the General Secretariat: get more information about the Video competition under http://www.ovpm.org/en/2015_international_video_production_competition_my_city_our_world_heritage
