Optician Karsten Klockow wins OWHC photo contest
Stralsund, Germany
Today (17th December) Karsten Klockow was surprised at his workplace optician’s shop BRILLENHAUS Stralsund by World Heritage manager Steffi Behrendt. The jury chose him to be the winner of the photo contest initiated by the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC) for his picture of Badstüberstraße during blue hour. With passion for detail, an elaborate technology and with a clever usage of light Karsten Klockow took an outstanding shot of one of the most beautiful alleys in the historic city of Stralsund. “Badstüberstraße is a quaint street that I’ve always wanted to shoot”, says amateur photographer at the award ceremony. He had meticulously prepared for the photo project to create this award-winning picture. Among all the winning photos of World Heritage cities in the region of north-western Europe which take part in the finals Karsten Klockow has the chance to win 700 euro and to be published in future publications of the OWHC.
