The Regional Conference 2016 in Stralsund on the topic of “Heritage and Community Involvement” was a success: more than 50 participants from 20 World Heritage cities as well as experts from other organizations discussed the important topic. The team from the Regional Secretariat in Regensburg organized a programme from September 27 to September 29 with a special focus on “working on the theme” of the next World Congress. With the support of an external expert and speakers from different organizations, a whole “Thematic Day” was scheduled with intense workshops and group discussions on our member’s experience in the field of community involvement projects.

During the Delegates meeting of the member cities in good standing of the region, the programme for the upcoming two years was discussed and Regensburg was granted with the trust to host the seat of the Regional Secretariat furtheron.

The Regional Secretariat thanks especially the Hanseatic City of Stralsund with Mayor Dr. Badrow for the generous hospitality and the perfect organization of the meeting in the wonderful Old City Hall.
