On 29 April, the Secretary General of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC), Mr. Denis Ricard, went to Karangasem, Indonesia, on the occasion of the adhesion of this city to the OWHC.

The mayor of Karangasem, Mrs. I Gusti Ayu Mas Sumatri, brilliantly demonstrated the heritage importance of the subak system. In addition, a colorful cultural heritage event was presented during this day.
