25 July 2019
Luxembourg’s Mayor and Member of our OWHC Board of Directors, Ms. Lydie Polfer, just kicked off the activities and programs for the city’s 25th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage inscription. Together with the minister for culture, Ms. Sam Tanson, and head of Luxembourg’s UNESCO commission, Ms. Simone Beck, the new logo for the anniversary has been presented in four languages at a press conference.
On a new website under www.weltkulturerbe.lu the city now starts to collect cultural, educational or touristic projects for being awarded with the label for special quality. The local community is especially asked to participate and hand in projects, it is the main intention to make this an inclusive event.
The special anniversary of Luxembourg will be celebrated for a whole year: from December 17th on, a multitude of events and programs will take place. Also the Regional Secretariat for Northwest Europe and North America will participate: the next regional conference will be held in Luxembourg in September 2020!
