OWHC Young Travelling – Exhibition in Regensburg

For the second time already, the Regional Secretariat for Northwest Europe and North America has awarded a “Young Travelling Scholarship” in summer 2019, i.e. a scholarship for travel enthusiasts between the ages of 18 and 28. The travel scholarship, which is endowed with 1000 euros, enables young people to get to know World Heritage Cities in Europe and North America and to understand why UNESCO World Heritage is so particularly worthy of protection for all of us.

Seven winning teams were selected from over 70 international applications. From July to October 2019, the Young Travellers were on the road and reported on their World Heritage experiences on their own travel blog and various social media channels. At the end of their journey, creativity was called for: they were asked to present their experiences and encounters in the various World Heritage sites in a form of their own choosing.

A collection of artistic output and results of our 2019 Young Travellers’ experiences during their excursions in World Heritage Cities is now on exhibit until end of April 2020 in the Regensburg World Heritage Visitor Center.

Wonderful drawings of architecture by Vincent Langaard, typecases filed with little souvenirs and specialities, a video presentation about Phialdelphia as City of Freedom, the very personal reflections of Pavlina on her experiences with integration and cultural heritage and more colorful paintings of traditional myths and legends attract attention for our project.

A few impressions to be seen here… and feel invited to come to Regensburg and see the exhibition in real!
