Dr. Dai and the Mayor discussed extensively on how to make Napoli and its prominent universities desirable destinations for American students pursuing study abroad. The goal is to have many American students to come to Napoli to enjoy the Italian culture and benefit from the success of Italian universities. The Temple delegation included also biology professor Antonio Giordano, a native of Napoli and one of the top scholars at Temple University. For his work toward enhancing Italy-US relations, Dai was a recipient of the Knight of the Order of the Italian Star from the Italian Government in 2017.
