Winners of the video competition 2023 – Congratulations to the cities of Jongno and Budapest!

The OWHC announced during a Virtual Ceremony held on 19 December 2023, the winners of the 2023 edition of the International Video Production Competition “Heritage and Quality of Life”.

The members of the jury were Mr. Rafael Perez de la Concha Camacho, Head of the Tourism and World Heritage Unit for the city of Cordoba, in his capacity as representative for one of the winning cities in the 2021 competition; Mr. Laurier Turgeon, Director of the Institut du patrimoine culturel at Université Laval in Quebec City, also Director of the Laboratoire d’enquête ethnologique et multimedia; and Mr. Mikhaël De Thyse, OWHC Secretary General.

The jury wishes to point out the high quality of all 12 videos presented by the following member cities of the OWHC: Jongno-Gu, Suwon and Gyeongju (Republic of Korea), Vilnius (Lithuania), San Antonio (USA), Icherisheher (Azerbaijan), Arequipa (Peru), Budapest (Hungary) and Vienna (Austria).

The evaluation criteria of the jury were the following: 1) the quality of the production; 2) the processing of the content 3) the originality and creativity.

14-17 years old category

The international winner in the 14-17 years old category is Team Crystal from the city of Jongno-Gu (Republic of Korea), for the video “Blowin’ in the wind: My city, Jongno”. Congratulations!

The certificate of honour and the $1500 CA prize will be directly sent to the winners.

18-21 years old category

The international winner in the 18-21 years old category is Hanna Peresztegi, from the city of Budapest (Hungary), for the video “Budapest Without”. Congratulations!

The certificate of honour and the $3000 CA prize will be directly sent to the winners.
