Regional Workshop “World Heritage in Young Hands” in Berlin
With 17 enthusiastic participants from 13 OWHC member cities, our regional workshop on youth engagement and the OWHC youth programs brought valuable output. With our moderators Julia Tovote and Verena Röll, a vivid working atmosphere enabled rich discussions on how we can better focus in our communication for young people aged 12-22. Especially the visit of a group of pupils from two UNESCO schools in and near Berlin helped us to better understand the needs and interests of the younger generation.
A big Thank You goes to our host city Berlin with Sabine Ambrosius and Landesdenkmalamt for enabling the sessions at Nicolaihaus and her tours through the “Altes Stadthaus” and the World Heritage site Museum Island.
The results of our work are summarized in this handout as a Recommendation on Youth Activation.
The participant from Global Philadelphia, Jessica Barber, summarized her experience of this workshop. Click on the link if you are interested in reading her!
