OWHC’s 17th World Congress: Shaping the Future of Historic Urban Centers

From September 24 to 27, 2024, the 17th World Congress of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC) transformed Córdoba, Spain, into a vibrant hub of cultural, political, and intellectual exchanges. With 56 delegations and 175 participants from across the globe, the Congress celebrated the theme of “Habitability of Historic Centers” and set new benchmarks for collaboration among World Heritage cities, to address the urgency of adapting heritage cities to modern challenges, including climate change and urban livability.

The Album encapsulates the key moments which made the Congress a memorable human and cultural event, and an important step forward of the ongoing ambitious process into which OWHC members are part of. Participants will enjoy remembering the impressions shared during the Congress, and the satisfaction felt about the achievements and the pleasure they had to be together.
