Meeting with experts of Nepal’s Lumbini

OWHC-AP had a meeting with the delegates of Nepal’s Lumbini on 13 March 2014. Lumbini is the world heritage site inscribed in 1997 with two criteria iii and vi. As the birthplace of the Lord Buddha, Lumbini is one of the most important sacred places in the world. The 11 experts and site managers took part in the workshop on capacity-building for the management plan of Lumbini which was organized by the Korean Land Institute.
Dr. Kwon HUH, regional coordinator, was invited to give his lecture to them on the Korean policy for the protection of world heritage sites. At closing his lecture, he introduced the activities and networks of OWHC and discussed future cooperation between regional secretariat and Lumbini.
