After its opening in May 2011, the expectations of visitor numbers in Regensburg´s UNESCO World Heritage Centre have been exceeded.
At Wednesday, September 10^th Mayor  Joachim Wolbergs and Christine Schimpfermann, head of the planning- and building department of the City of Regensburg welcomed the two guests, who filled up the visitor numbers of the centre to one full million.  Annette Sekinger and Constanze Ertl were both born and raised in Regensburg and were up to see an exhibition about the Old Stone Bridge at the Ground Floor of the Centre.
„We became curious about the exhibition due to the signs at the bridges‘ construction site and wanted to learn more about the whole process”, the young women explained, who live in both parts of the Heritage Site, in the Old Town and in Stadtamhof.

Mayor Joachim Wolbergs underlined his conviction, “that the visitor´s centre is an important element for the citizens in the complex system of Regensburg´s Heritage”. And Christine Schimpfermann added: „It is thrilling that every fifth visitor out of this million really focuses intensively at the content of the permanent and the special exhibition.”

For being the “ones in a million” Annette and Constanze will have the chance to celebrate their lucky day with a free boat trip at the river Danube.
