Warsaw celebrates Solidarity Day of WH cities

Warsaw, Poland

This year the Solidarity Day of World Heritage Cities in Warsaw was commemorated with a special programme primarily dedicated to children. The Heritage Interpretation Center invited all citizens of Warsaw to visit the museum.
The visit was a great opportunity to learn about the restoration difficulties and historical changes in the area of the Old town. the visitors were guided through the exhibition space by museum employees – academic researchers responsible for a particular narration of a visit designed for different groups of guests. The youngest audience could see how the Old Town changed through the ages by a large scale puzzle presenting the 17th century historical center of Warsaw. The challenge was to put together the not so easy map and put on it in right places figures of the most significant monuments. Children were supported by an educator who aimed to point out the uniqueness of the area inscribed on the prestigious UNESCO list.
