Geneva Declaration on the Human Rights and Cultural Heritage: Committed Cities Working Together

The Geneva Declaration on the Human Rights and Cultural Heritage recognizes the cultural heritage as an important resource to promote the human rights and explains the role of the cities regarding this issue.

The Declaration mentions more specifically that cities have to protect their heritage against damages caused by conflicts, as well as any unstainable development policies.  Cities that sign the Declaration should also work to implement participative and inclusive mechanisms regarding their cultural heritage and develop a network of solidarity between them to protect their heritage and the rights of their population.

We encourage the cities of the OWHC to read this declaration.
