42nd Session of the World Heritage Committee | Results

During the 42nd Session of the World Heritage Committee held in Manama (Bahrein) from 24 June to 4 July 2018, 13 cultural sites, 3 natural sites and 3 mixed sites were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The OWHC is very pleased that 3 of the inscribed cultural sites represent urban ensembles or properties within an urban context. The cities in which those sites have been inscribed are:

  1. Mumbai, India – Victorian and Art Deco Ensemble of Mumbai
  2. Ivrea, Italy – Ivrea, industrial city of the 20th century
  3. Naumburg, Germany – Naumburg Cathedral

The OWHC congratulates these cities for this distinction and hopes that this inscription will mark the birth of a fruitful collaboration with them.
