Summary of the 2019-2020 edition and work of the students
During the 2019-2020 schoolyear, many students around the world had the chance to live the experience of the Youth on the Trail of World Heritage exchange program.
The virtual part of this exchange program was launched in Fall of 2019. Here are some key numbers:
12
Number of World Heritage Cities registered to the program
20
Number of schools registered by our cities
10
Number of twinning
During this edition, young people from the participating classes were invited to use social networks to maximize their exchanges. Several creative ideas have been developed and online tools have been widely used so that students can bond and discuss about world heritage. Group discussions on WhatsApp or Messenger, creation of Instagram accounts and Facebook groups, writing articles on blogs, virtual meetings on Skype … all means were good to communicate!
Activities were also organized locally by teachers, such as a photo exhibition of heritage sites, guided tours, meetings with influential players in the city’s heritage management, including the mayor of a participating city and even the Prime Minister of the country in one case!
Even if the second part of the program, the actual study trip, had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the students did a great job with the first part of the program. Find below some of the works and creations from our active young participants!
