The OWHC announced during its virtual General Assembly held on 9 September 2021, the winners of the 2021 edition of the International Video Production Competition “New beginning. New vision. New city”.

The members of the jury were Mr. Charles Moumouni, from the Information and Communication Department of the Laval University (Quebec), Mr. Michael Turner, Adviser to the Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Ms. Alicia Despins, Member of the City of Québec’s executive committee as well as Ms. Lee Minaidis, Interim Secretary General of the OWHC.

The jury wishes to point out the high quality of all 23 videos presented by 16 member cities in good standing of the OWHC: Budapest (Hungary), Cordoba (Spain), Denpasar (Indonesia), Icherisheher (Azerbaijan), Regensburg (Germany), Bamberg (Germany), San Antonio (United States), Saint Petersburg (Russian Federation), Tunis (Tunisia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Camaguey (Cuba), Trinidad (Cuba), Évora (Portugal), Hue (Vietnam), Rhodes (Greece) and Zacatecas (Mexico).

The evaluation criteria of the jury were the following: 1) the quality of the production; 2) the processing of the content 3) the originality and creativity.

14-17 years old category

In 3^rd position, congratulations to Khomko Victoria, Ganyu Damilola, Abzhaparova Salia from the city of Saint Petersburg (Russian Federation) for the video “The Hermitage vs the pandemic. Breakthrough”.

In 2^nd position, congratulations to Martyna, Gabija and Ieva, from the city of Vilnius (Lithuania) for the video “Reunited with my city”.

The international winners in the 14-17 years old category are Inmaculada Sánchez de Puerta Rodríguez and Clara Dugo Gómez from the city of Cordoba (Spain) for the video “Wandering through our heritage in 5 minutes”. Congratulations!

Ms. María Luisa Gómez Calero, City Councillor and representative of the Mayor of Cordoba, delivered a few thank you words. The certificates of honour and the $1500 CA prize will be directly sent to the winners.

18-21 years old category

In 3^rd position, congratulations to Ángel Ruiz Ruiz and Carmen Pérez Cuello from the city of Cordoba (Spain) for the video “Hijos extraviaos”.

In 2^nd position, congratulations to Marianne Portuondo Méndez, from the city of Camaguey (Cuba) for the video “A Camagüey, mi globo rojo”.

The international winner in the 18-21 years old category is Nurjan Dashdemirova from the city of Icherisheher (Azerbaijan) for the video “Icherisheher during the Pandemics”.

Mr. Asgar Alakbarov Mayor of Icherisheher gave a few words on behalf of the young winner. The certificate of honour and the $3000 CA prize will be directly delivered to the winner.
