Let’s celebrate the 30th Solidarity Day of World Heritage Cities together!

Dear OWHC members,

September 8, 2023 marks an important event: the 30th anniversary of the OWHC, which member cities around the world are celebrating today as part of the Solidarity Day of World Heritage Cities.

On September 8, 1993, the Organization was founded at its first General Assembly in Fez, Morocco, during which the OWHC Charter was adopted by 56 World Heritage Cities. Over the past three decades, your commitment has been the cornerstone of the preservation and enhancement of World Heritage sites. Thanks to your efforts, these sites will continue to inspire present and future generations, and serve as bridges between cultures around the world.

To mark this special occasion, we have invited you to organize various activities and events in your cities. To create a virtual community dedicated to the 30th anniversary, we invite you to share your events on social networks by tagging the OWHC (@ovpm_owhc_ocpm) and using the hashtag #owhcsolidarityday.

To help us spread the word about your initiatives, please send us as much content as possible about your events (posters, photos, website and on-site videos) to Jules Morel, Communication Project Officer:  [email protected]. We’ll be sharing these celebratory moments with our entire community via social media and the OWHC website: ovpm.org.

We wish you a wonderful 30th Solidarity Day World Heritage Cities!
