A new city joins the Quebec Roadmap for 2025!
The year 2025 has begun with great energy and a renewed commitment to advancing the activities towards the OWHC’s New Urban Project.
We are delighted to announce that Mr. Basílio Horta, Mayor of Sintra, has confirmed the city’s participation in the Quebec Roadmap. Originally adopted during the 16th World Congress and further endorsed at the 17th World Congress in Cordoba, Spain (2024), the Roadmap now includes Sintra as its 25th participating city . This milestone reflects the growing momentum and collective dedication among OWHC members to sustain and expand the impact of this innovative program.
The Quebec Roadmap is one of the two flagship programs driving the development of the OWHC’s New Urban Project. This initiative plays a pivotal role in addressing global urban challenges and fostering innovative solutions.

The 12 Collaborative Networks of the Roadmap, launched in 2023 and 2024, remain actively engaged in generating impactful results. These networks have established themselves as invaluable platforms for exchanging knowledge, sharing best practices, and fostering meaningful partnerships among OWHC cities. We look forward to witnessing the emergence of new networks in the coming years, broadening the scope of Priority Thematics already developed and deepening the expertise of the Organization.
Stay tuned! An Action Plan detailing the Quebec Roadmap and the Cordoba Path, both programs that form the foundation for the New Urban Project will be released soon. This plan will outline the different activities and initiatives that will take place in the upcoming years, including the activity to be implemented through a partnership with the Cultural Heritage Financial Alliance (CHiFA).
